Important changes to your phone banking service

This year, even more customers have chosen the ease and convenience of online and mobile banking. This means we’ve had to review our free phone banking services.

Which services are affected?

From 15 May 2022, we’re replacing the following tariff-free numbers with standard tariff numbers1:

  • Personal banking queries
    Instead of 80001900, call +973 1752 9460 from inside or outside Bahrain 
  • Online banking queries
    Instead of 80001771, call +973 1752 9462 from inside or outside Bahrain

Access phone banking quickly and easily

Use phone banking without having to remember your phone banking PIN. With Voice ID, all you need to do is say 'My voice is my password' to unlock your accounts. If you've already registered, you're ready to go.

Avoid call charges with online banking

It only takes a moment to enjoy access to your accounts online and on your mobile. All you need is your phone banking number (PBN) and PIN to get started.

Increase to Value Added Tax in the Kingdom of Bahrain – 1 January 2022

What does this change mean for you?

This is for your awareness only, no action required.

Collection of VAT: HSBC will need to charge and collect 10% instead of 5% VAT and pay it to the National Bureau for Revenue. The Schedule of Services and Tariffs will be amended from 1 January 2022 to include the updated rate where applicable.
